Dr. Ferguson will also discuss how long you will need to wear the aligners to achieve optimal results. He will explain how, unlike traditional braces, Invisalign® aligners can be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing.
Once your aligners are crafted and received in the office, your second appointment with Dr. Ferguson will be scheduled.
During this appointment, he will have you try on your aligners and make any necessary adjustments to ensure they fit comfortably. Dr. Ferguson will also provide instructions on properly caring for your aligners and maintaining good oral hygiene throughout your treatment.
Once your aligners are ready, you will need to wear them for at least 22 hours a day, removing them only when you eat, floss, or brush your teeth. Initially, the aligners may feel tight, but you should not experience any pain.
Over time, your teeth will gradually shift to new positions as you progress through your treatment.
Throughout your treatment, Dr. Ferguson will schedule regular appointments to monitor your progress and give you a new set of aligners every 1-2 weeks. The process will continue until you reach your goal.
